'Fantastic Beasts 2' Trailer Officially Establishes Harry Potter 'Wizarding World' Shared Universe

Fantastic Beasts 2

We got another glimpse of our favorite school of witchcraft and wizardry, Hogwarts, in the first official trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. We've already shared our wish list for 5 great Harry Potter spinoffs - check those out and let us know if you agree, in the comments! There's also a new social media campaign asking fans to post photos of themselves with their wands, called #WandsReady. The film also stars Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol , Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, Carmen Ejogo and Jessica Williams. People joined Grindelwald because they were exhausted of living in the shadows of the no-maj (they're still muggles to me, but whatever), and they believed in a birthright to be the dominant force on Earth.

Although the matter was ultimately settled in August 2016, JK Rowling - the writer of the Harry Potter series and this new movie - and the movie's producers have had to speak out to defend their decision to keep him aboard, particularly amid the growing #MeToo and #TimesUp movements.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald marks Yates' fifth foray into the Wizarding World.

This sequel will pick up where Fantastic Beasts left off, following Newt Scamander and his group will fight against Gellert Grindewald who escaped the custody of the MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America).

The clip opens with a return to Hogwarts, with a group of apparently Ministry of Magic ministers "apparating" into the school to question a young Dumbledore (Jude Law) about the goings-on of his protégé, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
