Following his side's defeat at the hands of Valencia, which nearly certainly eliminates them from Champions League play next season, the manager spoke about Juventus' elimination of Tottenham this week.

Vertonghen, however, used Barcelona as an example of how a side can enjoy success while still playing in a positive manner.

"We're looking for more of the same in terms of the way we approached the game and the way that we played".

"We will always have our own identity and the way we play".

Tottenham are unbeaten in their six Premier League games and have won their last three top-flight games to hoist themselves above Chelsea FC.

"Spurs played some excellent football over the two legs against Juventus but their lack of Champions League experience was perhaps the difference between the sides at Wembley midweek", Owen told BetVictor.

"After Wednesday, it was a massive challenge, the opponent is waiting for you, but the team showed great personality and character, and we fully deserved the victory".

"To attack and dominate the game". We've played so many games and obviously Wednesday was very hard and we nearly played the same team against Bournemouth. "I believe that our style fits us better".

We can only hope that some solution is sorted sooner rather than later before the game and league we love are damaged beyond fix.

Spurs pushed up to third place in the Premier League table on Sunday afternoon by beating Bournemouth 4-1 at the Vitality Stadium, taking full advantage of Liverpool losing at Manchester United on Saturday.
