Arsene Wenger Keen For Jack Wilshere To Continue With Arsenal

Mkhitaryan was seemingly disappointed to see a lack of Arsenal fans at the Premier League clash after his pointed message following Sunday's 3-0 win.

'On my side nothing had changed, ' said the Arsenal boss.

At the end of the first 45 minutes it was the Gunners that was in a slim one goal lead.

"I wish he is in the England squad", Wenger said before Arsenal's Europa League last-16 second leg against Milan at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night; his team are 2-0 up on aggregate.

The Frenchman's long reign at the helm has been called into question in recent seasons, with the Gunners failing to qualify for the Champions League last season for the first time in 20 years.

The 29-year-old found himself frozen out by United manager Jose Mourinho, but Wenger is more appreciative of his qualities and has installed him on the right of his three-man attacking midfield.

The Italian, 50, has won 71% of his games in charge of Juventus, winning three Serie A titles whilst taking the club to two Champions League finals, making him one of the top managers in Europe - and Arsenal may now hope to lure him away from Italy this summer.

AC Milan were also winners at the weekend, though they needed a last-minute goal from Andre Silva to defeat Genoa 1-0.

Arsène Wenger expects Jack Wilshere to play his first football for England since Euro 2016 in this month's worldwide fixtures, saying the "vibes I get are positive" regarding the midfielder's callup.

"We're always playing for those who come and support us; the people who are really coming and supporting us are real fans".

That is the verdict of former Gunners forward and pundit Charlie Nicholas.

"He knows the fans don't hate him, they're just angry with him", he added.

The absence of Aubameyang places extra pressure on Mkhitaryan and judging by his initial impact in an Arsenal shirt he will be up to the task.
