Aditya Narayan feels sorry and calls the accident unfortunate

Aditya Narayan detained by Versova Police for crashing into auto at Lokhandwala injuring two

He was later released on bail. A police officer said, "The driver, Rajkumar Palekar (64), and the passenger, Surekha Shivekar (32), were injured in the collision".

The singer was booked in Lokhandwala on Monday after crashing his Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUV into an auto rickshaw. According to preliminary information, the accident took place when Narayan was taking a u-turn and misjudged the traffic. Reports also have it that police officials did enquire on the matter at Andheri where locals asserted that the man who was driving got out of the auto to help the victims.

A large crowd gathered around the accident site but nobody offered to lend a helping hand, except for an autorickshaw driver who agreed to take the two victims to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, which was barely a kilometer away from the accident spot.

The auto-rickshaw's female passenger and the ricks driver sustained minor injuries in the accident and were rushed to a hospital by Narayan. The driver of the rickshaw is admitted in the ICU while the passenger has fractured her leg, reports DNA.

Although it did not look like a case of drink and drive, the singer was taken for a medical examination by Versova police, following which he was granted bail and fined Rs 10,000. "Whether the injuries are life-threatening or not, I will not comment on that as the doctors are treating them", added the officer.

If reports are to be believed, the victims too are said to have suffered many injuries. "We have registered an FIR under sections 279 (punishment for rash driving), 338 (punishment for causing grievous hurt) read with section 184 of Motor Vehicles Act of the Indian Penal Code".
