Watch the Avengers: Infinity War Super Bowl Spot!

Tom Hiddleston returned to the big screen recently with the release of'Thor Ragnarok

Avengers: Infinity War will, besides uniting the collective Marvel Cinematic Universe, put the (Avengers) band back together after the onslaught of infighting and enmity reaped in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. The new promo arrived a little late in the broadcast, bringing with it new footage of virtually every major player in the ensemble film, as well some massive set pieces.

While Ryan Coogler's Black Panther is the next movie to be released on the Marvel Studios docket, fans will have to wait until May 4 for Avengers: Infinity War to hit the silver screen.

Notably, the Captain America figure is seen packed with a prominent accessory in his newly designed shield (and Thanos's head, which is part of a build-a-figure incentive and likely NOT a plot spoiler).

With apologies to the Eagles and the Patriots, the most exciting match-up of the day came in a commercial break during the Super Bowl. It also explains the "gauntlets" Rogers wears in the previous teaser, in that crowd-pleasing, slow-motion charge in which he leads the Avengers, and the Wakandan army, into battle. After all, the last time we saw the Avengers, they were split apart by the events of Captain America: Civil War. Now, we finally have an official answer. That final installment is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and will unite the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Thor, and other Marvel heroes and villains together for a very big showdown.

"So this is it", Tony Stark says.
