Rocket League is Getting Some Cool Merchandise

A Real Life Rocket League Game Is Coming Matthew Zimmari

Rocket League is pretty unbelievable, but combined with Hot Wheels, it's a whole new level of awesome.

This isn't the first time that Hot Wheels and Rocket League have teamed up.

The Hot Wheels Rocket League RC Rivals set won't be available until later this year in the U.S., and Australian pricing and availability has not yet been announced.

The entire set is really something to behold.

Also, while XP, inventory items, and player data will not be altered in the beta, video and audio settings, as well as control configurations may get modified. It works by using the free accompanying smartphone or tablet application. The ball, which looks like the ball from the game, has an infrared signal so the goals and scoreboard can keep track of points.

Some people may scoff at using touchscreens for precision driving, but we'd argue that this solution helps make the set more portable.

It looks like Mattel and Psyonix aren't ending their relationship here.

On the more serious side, the set will come with codes for DLC in the game, although whether that's just new vehicles and skins, or something more involved, has yet to be announced. The Hot Wheels Rocket League RC Rivals set brings Rocket League into the real world with a pair of tiny RC cars you use to knock a giant ball into your opponent's net.

While the thought of actually racing around Rocket League cars in real life is certainly exciting, Psyonix has also announced that new Hot Wheels DLC will be coming into the game following the success of the initial wave of DLC previous year. "You can expect to see some really, really cool things come out of our new Hot Wheels alliance".
