Ravens to play in Hall of Fame Game

The Bears beat the Ravens 27-24 in a regular season meeting in 2017

The Ravens will face the Chicago Bears in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced Tuesday.

The Bears have dominated the Hall of Fame game in the team's history with an astounding 4-0 record, and you may never find a more meaningless statistic.

As part of the hall of fame festivities in Canton prior to the induction ceremony, the Bears will play the Ravens on August 2nd. The Hall is also teed up to induct former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher. Lewis was a 13-time Pro Bowl selection, two-time Defensive Player of the Year and a Super Bowl MVP. Urlacher gives Lewis the nod. They won the previous four, most recently 27-24 over Miami in 2005. "I think I am pretty good, but Ray is the best of all-time", Urlacher told NFL Network in 2013 via the Ravens. This will mark the second straight year that the Hall of Fame Game will be played on a Thursday night and not on a Sunday.

With the Philadelphia Eagles continuing to celebrate their epic run that concluded in taking down the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII, the one concern the team was slightly anxious about for the next couple of months was the possibility of the team earning an extra preseason game in August.

The Hall of Fame Game will be the first of five preseason contests for the Bears.

Urlacher, who played all 13 of his National Football League seasons with the Bears, and Lewis, who played all 17 of his with the Ravens, were elected as first-ballot Hall of Famers on February 3. That year, Cowboys guard Larry Allen and Dolphins Head Coach Bill Parcells went into the Hall. Various ticket packages, featuring extra events with Hall of Famers and premium seating, are already on sale through the Hall of Fame.
