PM Modi on 18th February inaugurated BJP's new headquarters.

With the inauguration, the Bharatiya Janata Party became the first major national party to shift its office outside the Lutyens' Bungalow Zone, following a Supreme Court directive that party offices should be relocated from there. The new office is now located at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in Delhi.

"I want to thank Amit Bhai and his entire team, that worked hard to complete the work on the BJP HQ within the desired time frame", said PM Modi at inauguration of BJP's new headquarters. The 70-room office is a multi-storeyed modern construction, equipped with the latest technological and communication facilities. "This office isn't for the party's roadmap, it is for realising the hopes and dreams of the party workers. the soul of this office is the party worker". Inaugurating the new BJP central office, Modi charted the party's growth since its inception as Bhartiya Jana Sangh in 1951 and said it has never wavered from its founding ideals and is full of patriotism. He looked back at the long way that BJP has come.

Addressing the gathering, party president Amit Shah said: "Today is a very auspicious day for the BJP".

Speaking on the formation of the BJP, Modi said, "Ours was a journey that began with greats such as Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya". BJP has not only set an example for the other parties but also set a target. "A dream of millions of workers across the country is going to be fulfilled". It can be considered an aggressive step to move ahead especially in the northeast states and south Indian states.
