Pizza Is Healthier Breakfast Option Than Cereal, Dietitian Says

See, most popular cereals are filled with sugar and E numbers these days, so an expert, Chelsea Amer, believes that having a pizza is just as good - and has more protein.

An actual nutritionist said we can have pizza for breakfast and it's like all our childhood dreams have come true at once. Well, it's probably a lot healthier than that bowl of cereal that you get out of the pantry.

A recent study made the case against skipping breakfast and eating late. Forget Cheerios. Instead, reach for a slice of pizza, says one dietitian.

Nutrition blogger Chelsey Amer, MS, RDN, CDN, has confirmed that pizza can be a more nutritional option than most cereals on the market.

"You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain almost the same amount of calories", nutritionist Chelsey Amer said in an interview with the Daily Meal. However, she added that pizza contains much more protein compared to cereals, which will make people feel full throughout their morning.

But there are certainly healthier cereal options out there. Typical pizza ingredients and toppings (like cheese, vegetables, and meat) mean a morning slice might help you eat more of the foods that are lacking in most people's diets-and you'll be more satisfied, too.

Looking to start your day off with a nutritious meal?

If a person ate two servings of Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a single serving of nonfat milk, their total caloric intake would be 350 calories, 6 grams of fat and 23 grams of sugar, 5.37 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber. The first step is to choose a good box of cereal that contains fiber, which lowers cholesterol and controls blood sugar, combining to keep appetite in check.
