Nokia 6 launched in India for Rs 16999

HMD, few days before launching its expected Nokia 9, Nokia 1 and other handsets at MWC 2018, has introduced the 4GB RAM variant of the Nokia 6 in India. Interestingly, it was the 4GB variant that got unveiled in China. The device is priced at Rs 16,999 and will go on sale starting February 20, via Flipkart. The new 4GB RAM variant of the Nokia 6 will be available only on Flipkart. The new variant takes on the likes of the recently launched Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro. Nokia 6 was introduced in India a year ago in August and was sold online on Amazon India. Apart from the increase in RAM, there has been no change in terms of specifications. It was announced with 3GB of RAM & 32GB of internal storage.

Ajey Mehta, Vice President India, HMD Global said in a statement - "The Nokia 6 has emerged as the one of our most successful phones receiving plaudits for its design, durability and functionality from its countless fans".

It sports a 5.5-inch full HD with display a screen resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels. As a part of launch offer, users can avail extra Rs 2000 off on exchange on the smartphone. Overall, the Nokia 6 doesn't inspire confidence when it comes to specifications, but HMD is doing what it has been doing since its entry to the Indian market. Additionally, it comes with 64GB (32GB in the cheaper variant) of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card slot (of up to 256GB). Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and Global Positioning System.

Meanwhile, sensors on board the smartphone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.

The smartphone is backed by a non-removable 3,000mAh battery which can last for a day on a single charge with moderate usage. It also features a front-mounted fingerprint scanner under the display and dual audio speaks with Dolby Atmos audio.
