Look Arsenal just the tonic for Wenger

Why Arsenal's January Transfers Won't Ensure Top-Four Premier League Finish

The Armenian arrived at Old Trafford with a big reputation in 2016, but struggled to hold down a place in the first team and quickly found himself deemed surplus to requirements by manager Jose Mourinho.

Ahead of this game, Pochettino told the club's official website: "It will be an unbelievable game and we are so excited because we know what it means to play the derby".

Henrikh Mkhitaryan provided three assists on his full Arsenal debut.

Among those stars was Mesut Ozil, who finally committed to the club with a new three-year contract - days after Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang joined the club - leaving only Jack Wilshere with a deal to extend before it expires this summer.

Arsenal's Hector Bellerin confessed: "In the first half we were just waiting for things to happen, we didn't have the initiative to go forward, to keep the ball - and that's our game".

"The day Conte leaves Chelsea, if I was Arsenal, I'd be straight on the phone", Merson told Sky Sports.

Mkhitaryan has a positive impression of his time at United, and he believes he accomplished a lot there.

Mkhitaryan, unlike renowned tough guy Jesse Lingard, is just too damn soft to be a top player. I've seen it last season in training a lot, he's a very talented player.

"Arsenal is our sworn enemy and I know what it means, the derby", said Pochettino.

"We won the Europa League final, I scored a goal".

Mkhitaryan was also a "no show" in an important match.

"He has played one game".

Wenger admitted: "When you transfer numbers from one league to another, it is not necessarily transferable, especially in the top six".

Arsenal now have an abundance of creative talent in midfield, with Mkhitaryan, Ozil and Wilshere at their disposal.

The France worldwide had the chance to salvage at least a point for his side in the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, but he squandered two good opportunities from the bench.
