Freezing Rain Warning in Effect

About 5 to 10 cm of snow are expected on Saturday

Weather warnings and special weather statements have been issued for the entire province.

More unsafe weather conditions are coming for the Montreal area, with a drizzle starting Saturday afternoon before turning into freezing rain by Sunday.

About five centimetres of snow is expected in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area on Saturday. "General snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are anticipated, with the highest amounts most likely over the Niagara region".

In the meantime, some areas could see between 25 and 45 millimetres of rain.

The agency warns that driving conditions could be hazardous and the weather conditions could contribute to transportation delays.

A recent weather alert from Environment Canada states that freezing rain is expected to fall, starting Sunday morning and ending later in the afternoon.

Conditions should improve by Sunday evening. It's expected this will change to rain by Monday morning, Environment Canada says.
