Dua Lipa Bags Awards, Ed Sheeran With None

LONDON (AP) — Hometown London stars Dua Lipa and Stormzy were both double winners Wednesday at the United Kingdom music industry's Brit Awards, where many guests wore white roses to symbolize the fight against sexual harassment and assault.

Past year he won two Brit awards - Best Breakthrough Act and Critic's Choice. "Just forgot about Grenfell, you criminals", he continued, "and you got the cheek to call us savages".

'She's determined that the public inquiry will discover not just what went wrong but why the voices of the people of Grenfell were ignored over so many years.

Grime star Stormzy used his performance at the Brit awards to slam PM Theresa May over her response the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

Stormzy appeared overwhelmed as he accepted his first ever Brit - British male solo artist - fending off competition from Sheeran and Gallagher.

When she was named British breakthrough act, she took her younger sister and brother on stage with her, declaring: "I told them to believe in magic because it's real".

In the most moving moment of the night, the people killed and injured in the Manchester Arena bombing a year ago were remembered.

Singer Paloma Faith has criticised top male music stars for not showing their support for victims of sexual harassment and abuse by wearing white roses or pins at the Brit Awards.

"I do want to use this to say Theresa May is a paigon and you know what we're doing right now".

"I've never worked on something like this in my life", he said, of his album Gang Signs and Prayer, the UK's first grime album to reach number one.

JORJA Smith is an English singer and the 2018 victor of the Brit Critics' Choice Award.

Stormzy rapped at London's O2 Arena.

Stormzy won both awards he was nominated for but admitted he most proud that his album was recognised because he put so much into the songs. One Direction star Harry Styles won for video of the year by a British artist.

Stars performing on the night included Justin Timberlake, Rita Ora, Foo Fighters and Sam Smith.

USA rapper Kendrick Lamar was named best global male artist, with New Zealand singer Lorde taking the female solo artist honours.
