Colts say Andrew Luck doesn't need more shoulder surgery

Colts GM boldly declares'the rivalry is back on after Josh Mc Daniels spurns Indy for Pats

Instead of introducing Josh McDaniels as the team's head coach, Ballard stood in front of reporters trying to explain why New England's longtime offensive coordinator reneged on a deal he accepted.

McDaniels, by design, hadn't signed anything with the Colts yet. What NFL team wants to lose its offensive and defensive coordinator in the same offseason? We don't know exactly when that will be, but I think it's safe to say that Kraft and McDaniels have at least been informed of what's going through Belichick's head, with regards to the future.

When the Giants officially hired Shurmur, general manager Dave Gettleman went out of his way to stress - numerous times - that Shurmur is an "adult" and that "I really believe the head coach job for the NY football Giants is a job for an adult".

"I don't really follow it too closely, but I obviously know what happened", Tebow told SEC Country of McDaniels' situation. "Your agent's telling you to go and you decide, 'Nah, I'm not going'".

The Josh McDaniels era with the Indianapolis Colts is over before it officially began.

Gettleman was referring to Shurmur and never mentioned anyone else by name, but after what McDaniels pulled this week, it is doubtful, when describing him, "adult" is the first word that comes to mind.

The most obvious reason for McDaniels to stay is a combination of not wanting to get off the TB12 train and a promise he'd be the coach in waiting.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick spent one day as the New York Jets head coach after his mentor Bill Parcells retired in 2000. However, a meeting between the two men was reportedly crucial in convincing McDaniels to stay.

Josh McDaniels with his mentor in coaching (and backtracking), Bill Belichick. The Colts had meant to officially introduce McDaniels at a press conference today, but instead they'll be addressing the team's continued search for a head coach.

"I just said, 'I just need a yes or no answer".

Belichick went on to great success as the Patriots' coach after New England was able to pry him out of his Jets contract by sending a first-round pick to NY.

Toub has interviewed for head coaching jobs with the Chargers and Broncos in the past.

The Colts are now reviewing their options once more, but Ballard remains confident of hiring a new head coach soon.

The Colts are now reported to be targeting the Philadelphia Eagles offensive co-ordinator Frank Reich and New Orleans assistant coach Dan Campbell.

ESPN's Mike Reiss confirmed on Friday that the Patriots are finalizing a new deal for their special teams coach to remain in the fold in New England.
