BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre - only 300 units

BMW has whipped the covers off the limited-run M4 Convertible Edition 30 Years, created to celebrate - you guessed it - three decades since the first M3 Convertible's launch.

Today, the BMW M4 continues the two-door lineage, but with a 331kW, twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine.

There is a choice of two body colours: Macao Blue metallic pays tribute to the original high-performance M3 Convertible's debut over three decades ago; and Frozen Dark Grey Metallic, which is available exclusively in the UK. The special M4 packs 450 hp, an M Sport exhaust system, adaptive M suspension with specific Sport mode and a re-calibrated stability control system DSC and the Active M differential. Regardless of the color, every M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre model adds BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line trims for the kidney grille surround, the M side gills, the model lettering and the forged M light alloys. Star-spoke 20-inch wheels are also standard; here in a bespoke Orbit Grey finish.

Inside, Merino leather trim is chosen to decorate the exterior, with a two-tone effect available when Macao Blue is chosen. Lastly the lettering "30 Jahre Edition" is imprinted both on the doorsills and the headrests. Like that auto, the M4 Convertible 30 Jahre uses the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine lifted from the Competition Pack tuned version, which develops 444bhp and 500Nm of torque.

A production run of 300 models is planned globally, while 30 will arrive in the United Kingdom later this month priced from £76,675 - a premium of £10,850 over a regular M4 Convertible fitted with a DCT gearbox.

M floor mats and carbon-fibre dashboard trim are standard, along with the requisite 30 Jahre - 30 years in German - embroidering in the headrests.
