Arsene Wenger 'friendlier' than Jose Mourinho — Mkhitaryan

Mkhitaryan swapped the Red Devils for the Gunners last month, in a move that saw Chile worldwide Alexis Sanchez head in the opposite direction.

"Mourinho required a lot from the players", Mkhitaryan told SFR Sport on Friday.

Luckily for some United fans, the club got rid of Mkhitaryan.

Dredging up those comments will only further boost Aubameyang's standing with the Arsenal fanbase who have taken to him immediately following his debut goal and if he adds to his already excellent record against Spurs with a victor at Wembley, his popularity will soar even higher.

The first half was a close, well contested affair with neither side able to create many clear-cut opportunities so the two teams went in at the break level at 0-0.

When asked which of his former strikers Aubameyang most reminds him of, Wenger said: "I would say Thierry Henry with his quality of runs".

Aubameyang joined Lacazette, Thomas Vermaelen, Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor and Freddie Ljungberg as Wenger's goalscoring debutants. There has got to be players on the pitch that take responsibility and take pride in keeping clean sheets and being disciplined'.

As you can imagine, United fans on social media have spent the afternoon mocking Arsenal supporters for getting excited about Mkhitaryan too early.

And Wenger has revealed that he has been delighted by Aubameyang's professional attitude and work rate at Arsenal following his move to the club.

"But we don't care if Arsenal are behind us, or where they are".

They can now focus on their free-flowing team, full of hard men like Lingard and big game players like Lukaku, with a manager who wins matches against direct rivals. Arsenal's 5-1 demolition of Everton, during which he claimed three assists, was a glowing example of the pristine, zipping, penetrative attacking nous in the final third that will allow the Armenian to enjoy football once again.

'It confirms what we all knew before, inconsistencies and lacking balance.
