Arsenal are reportedly keen on attracting former Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mkhitaryan to Emirates Stadium as part of any agreement, with the Armenia worldwide having come in for criticism from manager Jose Mourinho this season.

The Spain worldwide penned his current United deal in September 2015.

Jose Mourinho has suggested that Manchester United are ready to offer David De Gea a new contract that could keep him at the club for the rest of his career.

There have been rumours circulating that Jose Mourinho would be prepared to include Armenia worldwide Mkhitaryan as a makeweight in the deal.

Asked about Mkhitaryan's future in Manchester, Mourinho - speaking ahead of Monday's visit of Stoke City - said: "My approach is that every player has a price".

The 27-year-old is under contract at Old Trafford until 2019, with the club having an option to extend it by a year.

"But obviously we are going to try [for a new deal]".

"Mr (Ed) Woodward is not on holiday".

While City manager Pep Guardiola, who coached Sanchez at Barcelona, was keen to add the 29-year-old to his squad, his wage demands and transfer fee were considered excessive by the club given he is out of contract at the end of the season, the paper said.

"I think every player has a price".

United have won just one top-flight game in their last four fixtures, and know they can not afford to slip up against the Potters.

"I just say what is obvious".

Mkhitaryan started just one Premier League game in the first four months of last season owing to a thigh injury and his manager's belief he needed time to adapt - and was taken off at half-time in the game he began. When I was managing him I was 40-something.
