Surface Book 2 coming to all Surface markets

Microsoft's 15-inch Surface Book 2 comes to 17 new countries

The 15-inch version of the device will be up for pre-orders today (17 January) and will see a roll out in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. On top of that, starting in February, Microsoft will release both Surface Book 2 models in places where it has yet to go on sale, including China, India, Italy, Qatar and other parts of Asia and the Middle East. Here is the link to the Surface Book 2 13-inch variant sales page in the UK.

Until now the larger model has only been available in the USA, although the slightly smaller model is available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United States and UK.

Microsoft first launched the Surface Book 2 in November, but so far, both the 13- and 15-inch variants have only been available in the US.

Microsoft has not announced its pricing for India as of now, but in the U.S. the base 13-inch variant ships for $1,499 and the 15-inch retails for $2,599.

The 15-inch model features an 8th-gen Core i7 processor alongside a more powerful GPU than you'll get in the 13.5-inch Surface Book 2 - it runs with a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of video memory (as opposed to a GTX 1050 with 2GB of video RAM). Microsoft, in fact, claims that the Surface Book 2 is five times more powerful that the original Surface Book and twice as powerful as Apple's MacBook Pro. The Surface Book 2 starts at $1499 (or approx Rs 97,461) for the base model, in the US.

The variants with eight generation Intel Core i7-8650U processors have quad-core and are clocked up to 4.20GHz on Max Turbo. The 15-inch PixelSense Display has a screen resolution of 3240 x 2160 pixels with an aspect ratio of 3:2.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth BT4.1 LE, Xbox Wireless built-in (in 15-inch models), USB 3.0 Type A, USB Type-C port, UHS-II SDXC card reader, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Surface Connect.
