Ready Player One gets a new 'Spielberg Sizzle' trailer

Based on Cline's critically acclaimed novel of the same, the film is set in a dystopian future where Tye Sheridan plays Wade Watts, one of the many people who have become obsessed with the Oasis: A massive virtual reality world.

Warner Bros. has released a new 30-second teaser for Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One, which hits theaters on March 30 - but that's not all!

Presumably referring to the current rise of VR tech like the Oculus Rift, Spielberg adds, "I suddenly saw a future that Ernest Cline, the writer of the book, envisioned".

The featurette below is clearly just a tribute to Spielberg's works. "When I read Ready Player One, it was the most fantastic flash-forward and flashback of all time".

In a new Making Of featurette, we get to see the behind the scenes of what is sure to be one of the most talked about movies of the year.

"I think [Ernest Cline] has seen the future before any of us could possibly imagine it", the director concludes at the end of the clip. Spielberg directs from a screenplay by Cline and Zak Penn, whilst Donald De Line, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Spielberg and Dan Farah all serve as producers. The director says that the themes explored is a great way to escape reality via virtual reality, a technology the director calls "a super drug".

Fans were treated to a peak at extra footage from READY PLAYER ONE this weekend, a new video serves as a reminder of how iconic Spielberg's career has been to date, with glimpses of "Jaws", "Indiana Jones", "ET" & "Jurassic Park", amongst others.

The film stars Tye Sheridan, Mark Rylance, Ben Mendelsohn, Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg, T.J. Miller, and Hannah John-Kamen. When Halliday dies, he leaves his huge fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the Oais, sparking a contest that grips the entire world.
