'Leaked' pictures show Sanchez as United's No. 7

Arsene Wenger is pleased to have a "committed and focused" player on board after Henrikh Mkhitaryan arrived at Arsenal in a swap for Alexis Sanchez.

Joey Barton has dismissed claims from Paul Ince that Alexis Sanchez chose to join Manchester United over Manchester City as the Red Devils are a far bigger club.

I didn't take him because there is a question of him moving to Manchester United and you can not drive up north and as well play football, said Wenger.

Chris Smalling has revealed Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's simple instruction to his players in the second half at Burnley.

After an eventful weekend that saw Alexis Sanchez go to Manchester and Henrikh Mkhitaryan come to London, there's news today that another heavily rumored transfer, for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is on the verge of happening.

Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, is buoyed by Mkhitaryan's arrival at Arsenal.

MANCHESTER - Alexis Sanchez is set to be unveiled as a Manchester United player after passing a medical, sources have told ESPN FC.

SunSport reported yesterday how Sanchez made the trip to United's Carrington training complex to finalise his move from their Premier League rivals.

Martin Keown, a former Gunners defender, had called Sanchez "the biggest mercenary in football", with reports suggesting the Chilean forward will earn £500,000 a week at Old Trafford.

Sanchez scored 80 goals in 166 appearances since joining Arsenal from Barcelona in 2014.

All the details have reportedly been ironed out between the two clubs, with the deal now said to be a straight swap, whilst the players have also agreed their deals with the clubs.

A picture that was posted on social media on Sunday evening appeared to show him taking a selfie in a United shirt with his name and No. 7 on the back - the shirt worn by club legends George Best, Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The German club's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed on Saturday that there had been an approach for the Gabon global, with the Gunners having agreed personal terms with the 28-year-old.

"We have tried to find the best possible solution and the best possible solution is that we lose a world class player - I don't deny that at all - but we did not lose him without getting somebody after".

Mkhitaryan is a slightly lightweight creative midfielder who is yet to really assert himself in the Premier League - so exactly the kind of player that Wenger likes to go in for.
