Ivanka Trump Wants to be the 'First Woman President,' New Book Claims

U.S. President Donald Trump gestures as he leaves the White House en route to Mar-a-lago Estate in Florida after signing the tax cut bill into law in Washington D.C., the United States, on December 22, 2017.

Michael Wolff, a man who has practically built a career on pissing people off, found himself in the biggest media firestorm of his career this week. Trump noted, "He called me a great man last night".

Henry Holt said in a statement it had received a cease-and-desist letter from Trump's attorney but would go ahead with publishing the book.

Walsh is now counted among the ranks of multiple other former members of the Trump administration who left or were forced out by the president, like Priebus, Bannon, former press secretary Sean Spicer and former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Bannon was quoted in the book as saying Trump's son Don Jr, son-in-law Jared Kushner and former campaign manager Paul Manafort had been "treasonous" and "unpatriotic" for meeting during the campaign with a Kremlin-linked lawyer on a promise of dirt about Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. She said the White House had rejected some two dozen of Wolff's requests for an interview with Trump.

Mrs Trump's spokeswoman furiously denied claims she had not wanted to be first lady. At the time, Wolff had been spotted multiple times by a reporter who now works for The Associated Press on the White House grounds with a "blue badge" - instead of a traditional press badge - that gave Wolff wide access to the West Wing.

"Due to unprecedented demand, we are moving the on-sale date for all formats of 'Fire and Fury, ' by Michael Wolff, to Friday, January 5, at 9 a.m. ET, from the current on-sale date of Tuesday, January 9", Henry Holt said in a statement. Harder then said he is looking into possible defamation of Trump and his family and invasion of privacy, ABC News reported. "You know I support him day in and day out".

Trump's press secretary Sarah Sanders hit back. The Oval Office is a short walk from the briefing room, but the video appearance allowed Trump to deliver a message without having to face questions about the book and other topics.

Around the same time, Wolff also wrote a prescient Newsweek column about how the still-new and struggling Trump White House and the media might reach a balance or detente.

Bannon had everything to do with Trump's election, the transition that followed, and the critical first months of Trump's presidency.

President Donald Trump is demanding the author and publisher of a new book about him immediately halt its release. A real and permanent split between Bannon and Trump is a good thing for the Republican Party and for the president. Not only would it would deter authors and publishers from publishing future books about this president (and any future sitting president), it would also directly undercut our nation's cultural and political legacy of a vigorous exchange and debate of ideas, the hallmark of a healthy democracy.
