It Snowed Across Texas, And There Are Pictures To Prove It

Snow is back in the forecast for Greenville and recent cold temperatures could create some problems on Upstate roads. The threat has forced The Robesonian to publish Thursday's edition early, on Wednesday afternoon.

In Atlanta, it was supposed to be 16 degrees for the low Wednesday but winds were going to be 15 miles per hour or stronger, making for a wind chill of zero. All other Southeastern Health affiliates, clinics and centers will open at 10 a.m. today.

All wintry precipitation should be gone along the coast later Wednesday evening or during the wee hours of Thursday morning.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said: "Nearly all of North Carolina will be impacted by this winter storm, and we're making sure North Carolina is ready", according to WCNC. "We will not be out of the house", Suratt said.

MassDOT said they were already pre-treating roads with brine and magnesium chloride.

More than 1,200 United States flights have been canceled and many others delayed Wednesday, with airports in Atlanta, Houston, New Orleans and Boston tallying the most cancellations, flight tracking site says.

The MBTA said normal subway, bus, and ferry services are also planned Wednesday. Forecasters said travel could be hard in north Georgia because of below-zero wind chills. While parts of Western Massachusetts have more than 6 inches of snow, most of the Boston area has less than the 2 to 3 inches previously forecast.

The biggest public school district in Texas has canceled classes for Wednesday as bitter cold temperatures promised to keep roads icy for another day.

North Carolina, bracing for 4 to 8 inches of snow in the north central area, declared a state of emergency. State roads had been treated with more than 2 million gallons of anti-icing salt brine.

Duke Energy reported about 5,400 outages concentrated mostly in the Charlotte area, and in Durham and Orange counties. But they say temperatures steadily falling into the teens could freeze anything that comes down, making travel hard.
