The impeccable Super Mario Odyssey gets a new competitive game mode and an appearance by the well-known plumber's too frequently ignored brother.

And in seemingly classic Nintendo fashion, the company built up the suspense to nearly unprecedented levels simply by not giving any notice ahead of time.

Whether any of the titles announced for the first half of 2018 really are enough of a recipe for success is just part of the equation for Nintendo this year. No exact release date has been given yet, but the game will arrive this spring. Porting Super Smash Bros. for Wii U over to the Switch would be a "best of both worlds" solution that gets the franchise on Nintendo's newest console while saving the team behind the series the trouble of creating an entirely new game. The Nintendo Direct, which has been called a Nintendo Direct Mini, came with a ton of updates on known games and a pretty big reveal! Nintendo fans are famous for having long and often impractical wishlists which the company usually ignores while instead marching to the beat of its own drum.

This is just one in a slew of positive news coming for the Nintendo Switch console with it also having recently outsold both its competitors, Sony's PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox One, in December past year in the United States.

"Dark Souls: Remastered" will run in 1080p full HD at 30fps on the Nintendo Switch when docked to a TV, while in handheld mode, it will run in 720p at 60fps.

Sure, it may a port of an old game, but it is an important game to many people. The gaming system that held the record earlier incidentally was also a Nintendo product - the Nintendo Wii. However, the Nintendo Switch remix will feature a different control method - one that uses the Joycons. "He'll be erased from existence if he can't compete a series of twisted tasks", the Nintendo Direct Mini explained. Ten months later, none of these problems have been solved - but in the meantime, Nintendo has reminded us that a game console lives or dies based on its library.
