Dana White Confirms CM Punk Will Receive Another Fight in the UFC

But, based off comments Khabib Nurmagmedov has made, it sounds like "The Eagle" wants to make McGregor work some more, before they ever square off.

At 39, Punk isn't getting any younger when it comes to his aspiring dreams to win a fight in the UFC but White is resolved in giving him one more chance.

Recently the UFC announced that Nurmagomedov will battle interim lightweight champ, Tony Ferguson, at UFC 223 on April 7th. Dana White has said the victor will be the champ, but, McGregor hasn't been stripped of the title...yet.

And while things most certainly did not play out like that, it could well be said that this latest setback to Dana's plans will allow the lightweight champion Conor McGregor to gain even more leverage in his ongoing negotiations with the UFC brass.

"I take so much s*** for how much I like Conor McGregor and everything else, but the division has to go on".

"I'm gonna make humble Conor", said Nurmagomedov (transcript courtesy of MMA Fighting).

Both El Cucuy and The Eagle are now ranked as number one and number two in the lightweight division respectively, so it makes sense for this fight to happen if Notorious is not going to be fighting anytime soon.

Now, at the end of the day, if Nurmagomedov does defeat Ferguson, and McGregor wants to fight the vaunted grappler, this fight will happen. I am 25-0 at 155. But it looks like we will see CM Punk in a cage at least once more. "I just think Brock loves to fight".

UFC 223 will take place in Brooklyn, New York on April 7th. Personally, I'd welcome him back to the WWE as soon as possible. "I don't think he really has the stopping power to really finish him".
