Anthony Davis scores 45 again as Pelicans beat Celtics in OT

Jrue Holiday hits the big baskets in overtime as Pelicans hold off Celtics

Davis had 45 points and 16 rebounds as he and DeMarcus Cousins controlled the lane and led the Pelicans to a 116-113 overtime victory on Tuesday night (Wednesday, Manila time), ending the Celtics' seven-game winning streak. The Celtics led by three towards the end of the frame at one point before the Pelicans finished strong and pulled ahead before the start of the fourth quarter. If Davis reaches a breaking point and wants out of New Orleans, then this is a topic worth seriously discussing.

Karl-Anthony Towns had 20 points and 11 rebounds for his NBA-leading 37th double-double of the season for the 'Wolves who recorded all five of their wins at home.

The main difference between Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins is efficiency. Kyrie Irving led Boston with 27 points, 24 after halftime as the Celtics rallied from a 12-point deficit and led by as many as five late in regulation. Davis began the night 5-of-6 from the floor, punctuated with two lobs from Rajon Rondo that he slammed home easily, while Cousins combined with him to score 23 of the team's first 26 points.

What a difference a night and the opponent made for the Pelicans. 48 points and 17 rebounds in an overtime win in NY followed 24 hours later by 45 points and 16 rebounds in an overtime win in Boston.

This was a wonderful game for the Hawks, and though wins are of little outcome for the team this season, it's always nice to see a likeable, scrappy team defeat two Top-10 players at the height of their powers.

"I think the thing is that we've just got to be consistent in what we're doing, and we've got to keep our health".

NBA investigating: The NBA has spoken to Clippers forward Blake Griffin as well as other players from Houston and Los Angeles as part of its investigation into late-game and postgame incidents involving the teams during Monday night's game at Staples Center.

"I'm coming ready to play tonight", he deflected.

After three big wins in a row, the New Orleans Pelicans have officially come back to earth as they lose in disturbing fashion to the lowly Atlanta Hawks. We had to fight back and do some things.

Hawks: C Dewayne Dedmon fouled out with 4:48 remaining after playing 20 minutes off the bench. The Pelicans rank 26th in steals allowed per game (8.8). The big man is under contract for two-plus more seasons.

"The ball movement that we had in the first half wasn't there", Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said.

The Hawks only scored 19 points in the second quarter of Wednesday's win over the Pelicans compared to the 28 scored by New Orleans.

"It felt like we were the team on the back-to-back in the first half", Budenholzer said.

Milwaukee regained the advantage, but the Heat responded with a scoring explosion that started with a three-pointer by Tyler Johnson and ended with a jump shot by Dragic. The break in games has allowed Boston (34-10) to get in some practice and healing time.

The Spurs also shoot 43.8 percent in road games, which is the third-worst in the league and their 3-point percentage of 33.9 in road contests is the worst. The Pelicans responded with a 12-0 run before Budenholzer called the first timeout of the game.
