A Woman Actually, Successfully Returned Her Dead Christmas Tree

Woman returns ‘dead’ Christmas tree for full refund social media can’t handle

Costco's magnanimous return policy was severely tested last week in Santa Clarita, Calif., when a woman returned her Christmas tree to the big-box store and asked for a full refund "because it was dead".

Scott Bentley, a shopper who was behind the woman in line, posted a photo of the transaction on his Facebook page.

"I can't make this stuff up", Bentley's post began. The post said that the woman did get a refund but after the store checked and verified that the tree was purchased on her account. Witnesses say the woman wanted a refund for her once lush, full tree because, get this, it had since died.

"If I didn't see it, I wouldn't believe that someone had so little morel [sic] values or lack of conscience". "People like this are miserable".

Costco is known for its generous returns policies - with basically any item able to be refunded at any time except electronics, which have a 90 day limit. "Seriously, how cheap can you be?" wrote one user.

While the rest of us were debating where to abandon our trees, one woman chose to take hers back for a refund.
