Xiaomi Redmi 5 Redmi 5 Plus Price Leaked Via Ali Express Listing

With Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones launch around the corner, the Chinese manufacturer is in overdrive to promote the smartphone. Now, we may have just received the pricing of the two phones courtesy online retailer AliExpress. The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus will also come with the latest MIUI 9 out of the box, which is already confirmed by Xiaomi in the MIUI forums.

In terms of rumoured specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 would feature a 5.9-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a 2160x1080 pixels resolution. The Redmi 5 Plus is listed at $249.99 (approx Rs Rs 16,000) and the Redmi 5 at $199.99 (approx Rs 12,000). Both the new smartphones will be available in Pink, Gold, Blue, and Black. Both the phones will look identical, and will only differ in the display size with the Redmi 5 Plus being the larger of the two. It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 625 or 630 SoC coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM with 32GB and 64GB storage, respectively. As per TENAA, Redmi 5 is expected to come with 1.8 GHz octa-core SoC.

Xiaomi, which has become number one brand in smart phone, with a shipping of 9.2 million phone in the third quarter of 2017, on Wednesday launched Redmi 5A in the city. The phone is tipped to come in a choice of 2G + 16GB or 3GB + 32GB configurations. However, both smartphone models with support the new taller 18:9 aspect ratio. The Redmi 5 Plus might get a beefy 4000mAh battery unit.

On the camera front, the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are getting a 12MP rear-facing shooter and a 5MP front snapper, which again isn't a massive improvement over the 13MP rear snapper with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and 5MP selfie snapper with f/2.2 aperture in the Redmi 4. The device will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top and will be backed up by 4000 mAh battery. The Redmi 5 Plus may not hit the Indian shores, but the Redmi 5 will succeed the successful Redmi 4 smartphone in the Indian market.
