Trump Thought Pence and Family Were Low-Class 'Yokels — The Atlantic

Trump released a video apologizing for the "Access Hollywood" remarks after the Post's story.

In an interview with CBN News's David Brody, Pence said that he and President Trump are deeply grateful for the support they have received from evangelical Christians.

Reports surfaced this week that Vice President Mike Pence and ex-White House chief of staff Reince Priebus were planning to snatch the presidency right from under President Donald Trump.

Mr Pence's wife Karen was even more disgusted and called Mr Trump "reprehensible - just totally vile", the United States magazine the Atlantic reported.

"Within hours of The Post's bombshell, Pence made it clear to the Republican National Committee that he was ready to take Trump's place as the party's nominee", The Atlantic reported. The Atlantic reports that it's unclear whether Trump had knowledge of the conversation and if the group ever made an offer.

President Trump has recently reopened the debate over the "Access Hollywood" tape, which was filmed in 2005 and shows Trump discussing groping women.

Alyssa Farah, Pence's press secretary, tweeted Tuesday, "Regarding The Atlantic's exhausted, false claim about the VP during the campaign - we denied this in the article and deny it again today".

As an alternative to Trump/Pence, Republican leaders and donors were reportedly considering adding Condoleezza Rice to a Pence-topped ticket. According to a New York Times report last week, despite having issued an apology for the comments, Trump now claims that it wasn't him.
