Tre'Davious White calls one-game suspension for Rob Gronkowski a 'joke'

Fortunately for the Bills, the cowardly act by Ron Gronkowski in last week's Bills-Patriots game won't cost Buffalo their number one cornerback. After White intercepted Tom Brady's pass, Gronkowski speared the defender while he was laying face-down on the turf. He also spoke for the first time about the league levying just a one-game suspension for what everyone agrees was dirty and unsafe. White went into the concussion protocol. Speaking about the late hit for the first time on Thursday, White was still pretty fired up about the play, calling Gronkowski a dirty player. I mean, I got a son to raise. People don't think about that when they just react. I probably could've but my tongue off. Dirty shot, so what does that make him?

"I'm glad I had my mouthpiece in", White said. "Bad headache. It is what it is".

Gronkowski will now have to sit out the Patriots' game against the Miami Dolphins next Monday.

"Man, I don't know what to say on that", White told reporters.

"His intentions were to hurt me", White said. That you would attack the guy from the back like that on a regular play?

Since that time, the All-Pro tight end has been suspended for one game (pending appeal) but that has not stopped those around the National Football League from weighing in on what exactly he did on the field.

"I'm focused on the Colts [this Sunday]", he said.
