The USS Callister Trailer for Black Mirror Season 4

Black Mirror

It is directed by Toby Haynes (Doctor Who, Sherlock) and co-written by creator and executive producer Charlier Brooker with William Bridges.

This will be the first time that Black Mirror has ventured into outer space.

Netflix has been doling out teaser trailers for the fourth season of the show over the last two weeks an all six are officially up.

Netflix has not yet announced a release date for season four Black Mirror beyond saying before the end of 2018. Check out the final frontier-evoking key art for the episode down below. The spot blends psychological paranoia with the techy futurism Black Mirror always delivers upon. The episode stars Rosemarie Dewitt and Brenna Harding and is directed by Jodie Foster (yes, that Jodie Foster).

A Star Trek riff, this episode looks to bring its critique of power abuse through a fun parody that will inevitably take an terrible turn. It stars Andrea Riseborough, Andrew Gower, and Kiran Sonia Sawar. "We did the 1980s [in San Junipero] when we didn't think we could do that, so then we thought, 'Can we do space?'"

Finally, "Hang the DJ" (trailer below) stars Georgina Campbell, Joe Cole and George Blagden and is set in a world where people are paired up for dating with a device that tells you how long you should be together for. Starring Maxine Peake, Jake Davies, and Clint Dyer, this episode's premise appears to involve one of those super-creepy Boston Dynamics robots that run, falls over, and gets back up. This promises to be another mind-bending season of highly eerie episodes, with "U.S.S. Callister" being a particularly intriguing proposition. The episode from the upcoming fourth season of the millennial Twilight Zone has quite the cast-like Jesse Plemons, Jimmi Simpson, Cristin Milioti, and Michaela Coel-and a bunch of humor we're sure is meant to distract from its true sinister nature. There are obviously more unsettling, poignant and slightly more melancholic moments, but at the same time, it is a romp.
