Shazam! Casts IT Actor as DC Comics' Captain Marvel Jr

IT Star Jack Dylan Grazer Joins the Shazam! Movie

DC's Shazam is continuing to gain momentum on the road to filming, as a major casting has been announced.

Deadline reports Jack Dylan Grazer, star of the recent film adaptation of Stephen King's IT has joined the cast of DC and New Line's upcoming film Shazam! Shazam himself is the alter-ego of teenager Billy Batson who has the ability to say the word "Shazam", and transform into an adult superhero with the power of six mythological gods after saying the word.

Recently, Levi, 37, admitted he is "honoured and humbled" to be cast as the film's titular superhero. Grazer joins Zachary Levi, who will play the title role, along with Asher Angel who will play Billy Batson.

David F. Sandberg will be at the helm of affairs of the project.

Mark Strong is in talks for the role of the villain, while Grace Fulton will play one of Angel's friends. His uncle is well-known movie producer Brian Grazer. Jack is best known as hypchondriac and Losers Club member Edward "Eddie" Kaspbrak in "It.' "It" collected 694 million across the globe making it the highest grossing horror film ever". He also appeared in the CBS series Me, Myself & I and will next be seen in the drama Beautiful Boy with Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet.
