Osmania University suspends classes after protests on campus, exams postponed

Following the bandh call, Osmania University, Telangana University and JNTUH postponed their exams.

ACP J Narsiah told Deccan Chronicle, "We gave them permission to give condolences to the 21-year-old student and not to make a fuss".

Students of Osmania University have been at the forefront in the movement for the formation of separate Telangana state.

Speaking to Newsclick, Arunank said "Earlier, university students Isanth Reddy and Venugopal Reddy who were part of Telangana state formation movement have committed suicide inside the campus".

Doulapur is located in Siddipet district, within the Gajwel constituency, which is represented by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, and about eight kilometres away from the CM's farmhouse in Eravalli.

He added that the University has been facing a huge financial crisis.

The students at the university have been protesting within the campus since Saturday, demanding - among other things - compensation and a government job for a member of the family of the deceased student.
