Magnitude 5.0 quake strikes Uttararkhand and adjoining regions

A moderate quake hit India's northern state of Uttarakhand on Wednesday, officials said.

The epicenter of the natural disaster, which came at 8.52 pm, was Uttarakhand. It struck at 8:49 pm, at a depth of 30 kilometres, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said that tremors were also felt in Uttaranchal and magnitude 5.0 and epicenter 121 Km East of Dehradun.

However, reports are coming that the impact of the natural disaster was not so remarkable even many have not felt it. Dehradun reports suggested no casualties. It is also known as the third most earthquake-prone city in India.

Panicked by the jolt, people took to social media to share their experience. On Tuesday, a 3.3 magnitude quake stricked tht state.
