The Irish music trend continues in the top spots as the second most watched video was a stirring rendition of the ballad Green Fields of France sung by Finbar Furey and Christy Dignam on the Late Late Show in January, while in third place are young Irish brothers Seán and Conor Price performing a modern take on Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower on X Factor.

Latino artists' popularity on YouTube is proof that they are massively popular in worldwide markets, even if they continue to face barriers to entry in mainstream music in the U.S. What's more, it points to the fact that Latino listeners have been shaping global pop music trends for some time (check pop's current obsession with dembow-lite riddims for proof). The video-streaming juggernaut has released "The Shape of 2017", this year's iteration of its annual YouTube Rewind video, rounding up the biggest music, trends, memes and characters from 2017, based on views, shares, comments and likes. Every minute, more than 400 hours of video are shared on YouTube.

"It was incredible, when we put the pilot up it was trending at number one for a week and it got a million views in like three days", Theo, 29, told AAP. You can see the "anonymous" DJ throughout the video, demonstrating how completely mello has dominated pop-culture and dance music in 2017.

The America's Got Talent judging panel was so impressed by Darci Lynne Farmer's ventriloquist routine that they sent her straight to the live shows by pressing the coveted Golden Buzzer.

"Now, we are applying the lessons we've learned from our work fighting violent extremism content over the past year in order to tackle other problematic content".

And, if snagging top place wasn't good enough - Mick made it into the list twice, with the original upload of the song coming in at sixth. This time, it was his debut on James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke", in which we learned Sheeran could stuff 55 Maltesers into his mouth at one time and that he doesn't own a cellphone. Advertisers who buy into these bad boys can't choose where their ads will go.
