Joburg Open golf tournament numbers grow

In a major change for the Joburg Open 2018, the Asian Tour has been added as the third sanctioning tour to endorse the Joburg Open along with longstanding PGA's the Sunshine Tour and European Tour.

"There was a dark cloud right above the party venue, but it did not rain".

"I'm probably going to go do an X-ray today", Oosthuizen said.

Davidse fired a superb 63 at Randpark Golf Club to earn the outright lead ahead of a group of six players, including Baldwin and Morrison, with the top seven players on the leaderboard all making their scores at the Bushwillow course.

Oosthuizen's freakish injury, however, opens up the door for red-hot compatriot Dylan Frittelli, who won in Mauritius last week, to try and secure his place at the 2018 Masters at Augusta National. "I therefore had no expectations coming into this week". Some guys say this golf course (Bushwillow) is easy, but you've still got to hit the ball.

Davidse excelled at the par fives, claiming birdies at all three, Another five birdies came at par fours with one at a par three.

After flying back after a T-7 at last week's AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, Oosthuizen injured a couple fingers when he got them stuck between two airport trolleys (baggage carts to Americans). I'm just out here to have fun. South African Darren Fichardt is the defending champ.

It also sees the field growing from 206 to 240 professionals, which means the stakes have been upped for the golfers aiming to clinch the prestigious winner's title, one of three qualifying spots for The Open Championship, or be among the prize money finishers of the tournament for their share of the R16.5-million prize purse.
