On the popular internet morning show, The Morning Breath, hosts Jackie Oshry and Claudia Oshry were able to reveal (thanks to the noted approval of their publicist) that a large number of women attending the 2018 Golden Globes are opting to wear black to protest sexual assault.

According to People, several major actresses including presenters and nominees Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain, Meryl Streep are gearing up to wear black at the awards show as a symbolic form of protest against harassment in Hollywood.

"Many actresses have been vocal about their own experiences of sexual harassment or assault, joining the national "#MeToo" movement exposing incidents of sexual misconduct.

This will not be the first time actors and actresses have expressed their solidarity towards a cause by way of their sartorial choices.

Numerous award show attendees wore a blue ribbon to show their support for the American Civil Liberties Union and their "Stand with the ACLU" initiative.

In a recent CAA meeting about gender equality in the industry, there was talk of a new protocol for the red carpet.

#AskHerMore is about treating women as full human beings rather than objects.

Us Magazine reports that it was originally meant to be a just a small group of actresses participating, but word got out and now a few dozen are planning to participate.

This follows the statement stars at the 2017 Emmys made this past September.

"I hope the red-carpet interviewers ask about the power the media has to make a difference in the world", Newsom said. "But we can not focus exclusively on fashion and these women's appearances over everything else". Back to the drawing board!
