Epic Reveals 50v50 Battle Royale Map & It's Available Now

Fortnite: Battle Royale is getting a special 50-vs-50 limited time mode

Epic Games also shared some stats regarding the game's success, with Fortnite boasting more than 30 million players since the game's July launch.

Fortnite is turning into a massive action game (or MAG) with the introduction of a mode that will enable two teams of 50 players to fight against one another in its Battle Royale game type.

The game's latest 1.9.1 patch added support for 4K on the Xbox One X and, "due to overwhelming popular demand", formalised what has quickly become one of Fortnite's headline features: rocket surfing. The sad part of the announcement was that this 50 vs 50 Mode is going to be available in Fortnite Battle Royale for a limited time.

Although the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds developer has not been too happy with Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic seems to have a mega-hit on their hands. There's been no word on whether the game mode will come back in the future.

Fortnite and its Last Team Standing mode are available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
