But the odds of winning either lottery aren't as good as they used to be. The estimated jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing is $306 million.

The jackpot there has jumped to $384 million, and even if a player doesn't win big, there's a chance to win something.

Almost $700 million in lottery jackpots will be up for grabs, starting with Friday night's Mega Millions drawing.

In October, Mega Millions changed the numbers that players could choose from, bringing the odds of picking all six numbers to 1 in 302.6 million, from 1 in 258.9 million under the old format. That prize was split between winners in three states. IL lotto player Patricia Busking nabbed the Mega Millions in mid-August, taking home $393 million. The last chance to buy Powerball tickets is Saturday, December 20th at 7:00pm PT, and the drawing is at 9:59pm PT that night. The price of a ticket also increased to $2. If no one wins this Friday, Tuesday's jackpot will be in the top 10.

Louisiana is no stranger to lotto winners, with a $191 million Powerball victor from Eunice back in October. Then, pick five lucky numbers from 1 to 69 and one POWERBALL number from 1 to 26.

At 1-in-88 quadrillion, the odds of winning both jackpots are not in your favor.

Owner James Kim and cashier Ronald were on hand, and Ronald showed FOX 11 his ritual for people who buy tickets at his shop.

Someone won $2 million dollars this week on a ticket that was bought in Cuthbert.

- The line will be long at Bluebird Liquor and many other stores that carry lottery tickets, as people are hoping to strike it rich as the end of the year approaches.
