The giant e-tailer is promising one-day deliveries in most capital cities and 30% discounts on big-brand toys and clothing.

However, searches the new Fire TV Stick Basic Edition, which should have been on sale for the first time to Amazon Australian customers for $69, bring up only books. It's assumed the categories on offer will be expanded in the coming month. "The result will be an ever-improving customer experience driven by the regular introduction of new products and services that we hope customers will love", Braeuniger added.

The site will also give users access to Prime Video, Amazon's answer to Netflix.
