Adult Film Actress August Ames Kills Self After Being Targeted for Homophobia

August Ames dies dead how did die

Adult film star August Ames passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5 from an apparent suicide.

A native of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, Ames was a two-time AVN Award-winner with more than 270 credits since her debut in 2013.

Her popularity had risen steadily since she nabbed a nomination for Best New Starlet at the 2015 AVN Awards; she scored a nomination for Female Performer of the Year in 2016, 2017 and the upcoming 2018 Awards, set for January.

Ames tweeted on Sunday suggesting that she did not work with men who have done gay porn. BS is all I can say‍♀️ Do agents really not care about who they're representing?

This former porn star has revealed her secret to landing a wealthy older husband - becoming a Buddhist and praying. That's just how it is with me.

She was married to adult film director Kevin Moore, who confirmed the news of her death.

Friends of August say she had suffered long-term depression before her suicide, and some told The Blast they believed the recent incident with online harassment may have contributed to her death.

She later added that she "loved the gay community" and that "none of her intentions were malicious". She also said that she didn't want to put "my body at risk". I CHOOSE who I have inside my body.

Pornstar August Ames has died aged 23. Toxicology reports are still being conducted, so no official cause of death has been revealed, but there is no evidence of foul play.

Her husband Kevin says August's death is a private family matter and has described his wife as "the kindest person I ever knew" and says "she meant the world".

Ames's death has since raised disconcert with the nature of the adult entertainment industry, of its demands and expectations of performers, with some remarking that the entertainer's death was a tragic and ironic one, having risen to great heights in the industry, but ultimately overwhelmed and negated by the nature of her work and status as a star adult entertainer. She said that Ames was one of the best and nicest people she has ever known in the business.

American star Abella Danger, 22, wrote: "She was the most kind-hearted person ever".

The medical examiner's office in Ventura County confirmed her death Wednesday, XBIZ reported. "Such a sad day".
