Active shooter reported at New Mexico high school

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office said there was an active shooter at Aztec High School in New Mexico

Aztec Police Chief Mike Heal says two people and a shooter were shot Thursday in an incident at Aztec High School in Aztec, New Mexico.

Officials at the San Juan County Sheriff's Office told KRQE the shooter is in custody. Aztec Mayor Sally Burbridge confirmed that the shooter was down and said there is no more threat to the community.

Per the Bloomfield Police Department, there are officers at all of the schools there. All students faculty and staff are accounted for. Both Bloomfield and Farmington High Schools are on lockdown.

San Juan County Sheriffs confirm other schools in the area are on lockdown.

Aztec High School is located at 500 E Chaco Street, in Aztec, New Mexico.

A spokesman for Aztec Police Department informed parents of initial information, and a video of it was shared on Facebook by a reporter for TV station KOB.
