Samuel won't return due to injury for Panthers vs. Dolphins

When Cam Newton is having fun, the Carolina Panthers are a risky team and they proved that in a 45-21 win over the Miami Dolphins.

The Panthers and Dolphins are set to conclude Week 10 of the National Football League season Monday night in Carolina. Carolina rushed for 201 yards in the game, including 86 from quarterback Cam Newton.

The Dolphins (4-5) have lost three straight.

Jonathan Stewart ran for a season-high 110 yards and Newton added 95, including a 69-yard jaunt on a read option, as the Panthers racked up 294 yards on the ground.

The third-year receiver from MI finished with five receptions for 92 yards and a 32-yard touchdown early in in the fourth quarter that put the game out of reach. He threw for two touchdowns, including a 9-yard strike to Jarvis Landry with 4:05 to play.

The Carolina Panthers put together by far their most complete game of the season on Monday night, as they obliterated the Dolphins, 45-21, in prime time to move to 7-3 on the season.

Carolina got the ball back by stopping Miami's fourth-and-1 play from the Dolphins' 49. This was the first of Newton's four touchdown passes on the night. However, that momentum didn't carry over, as Cutler had a vintage "Jay Cutler moment" with an overaggressive and unnecessary interception to Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly with 41 seconds left in the first half that took all the energy out of the Dolphins.

The Panthers led, 17-7, at halftime, and rolled up 27 more points in the second half. With an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty tacked on, it gave Carolina possession at the Miami 20.

The Dolphins closed the gap with 2:12 left in the half when Cutler's flip pass to tight end Julius Thomas went for a 2-yard touchdown.
