Olivier Giroud has no regrets over staying at Arsenal

Ashley Williams vows to continue leading Wales after dismissing retirement talk

The Frenchman has not started a league game this season and has only been part of the team's Europa League and League Cup campaigns so far.

Former Toffees boss Ronald Koeman even revealed Giroud was "in the building" to complete a move to Goodison but had a sudden change of heart and chose to stay at Arsenal.

He said: "I am not questioning myself about my future". We will see what happens but I am happy at Arsenal for the moment.

"I am thinking that the story between the club and myself was not over and not finished".

Manager Arsene Wenger does, however, have plenty of options to choose from up front, with Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette expected to lead the attack.

"I have a lot of objectives with Arsenal and my country so I always try to move forward and keep scoring".

Following Giroud's withdrawal from the squad, Didier Deschamps is yet to call-up a replacement.

Ramsey played 90 minutes as the Dragons suffered a 2-0 defeat against France in Paris, but the Arsenal star has since pulled out of the group ahead of the game in Cardiff.

Giroud's goal against Wales brought him into some good company with the France national team, as he moved to within one goal of fifth-placed Jean-Pierre Papin.

"He's gone back, he's okay, he came through the game okay".

"You're always the first person people point to if the team don't score, but the thing is that I score and I'm doing well with the team".

Giroud has only scored three goals for Arsenal this season and has struggled for starts since the arrival of his global team-mate Alexandre Lacazette. That's most important for me.
