'Modern Day Maharaja' Jinder Mahal accepts Triple H's challenge for one-on-one match

Triple H said he will step into the ring in New Delhi

Mahal said: "Triple H not only the biggest match in Indian History, but also of my career".

WWE has found a main event for its December 9 show at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India, when Triple H takes on Jinder Mahal. Those are the questions that Triple H posed on Twitter when he issued a challenge for a match against Mahal when WWE goes on tour there in December.

Mahal, the Singh Brothers, and Owens had been scheduled to be the only SmackDown representation on what are otherwise Raw house shows.

According to the set match-cards, The Modern Day Maharaja was set to defend his WWE championship against Kevin Owens in Delhi but his six-month title reign ended when AJ Styles pinned him on SmackDown Live last week and rumours began circulating - what next for the former champion in India? It's easy to see why WWE would make an exception. Mahal then replied in a promo where he accepted the challenge. Triple H is a HUGE match, even without the championship.

No word yet on who Mahal will face on the December 8 show. Some fans think this is a sign that AJ Styles might still be the WWE Champion. I'm not sure if we'll see Mahal vs. HHH taking place in India or not but it would certainly feel like an important match.

The fact that Triple H wants to wrestle Mahal is good news for the "Modern Day Maharaja".

Starting his career as Terra Ryzing at the World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Triple H moved to World Wrestling Federation under his ring nameJean-Paul Lévesque.

Opinion: They're certainly giving Mahal a strong set of opponents.
