'Jersey Shore' is coming back to MTV

New 'Jersey Shore' Installment 'Family Vacation' Greenlighted By MTV

Before you ask, 'wait, aren't they parents now?' the new series Jersey Shore Family Vacation follows what people assume will be the gang and their families as they go on holiday together.

Many correctly guessed the nature of the announcement: the pop culture phenomenon is returning to the air.

On Monday evening, MTV announced that nearly all of the original cast members are reuniting for another installment of the beloved reality series, now titled Jersey Shore Family Vacation.

The new reunion was announced during the series premiere of Floribama Shore.

MTV is bringing back one of its biggest series, Jersey Shore, for a new installment. Ortiz-Magro's on-and-off romantic interest Sammi Giancola isn't listed as part of the cast.

Buzz and ratings greatly cooled for the show's sixth season, but it remained a reasonably strong draw (by typical cable standards) through its December 2012 finale. In addition to Jersey Shore, recent reboots include My Super Sweet 16, which originally aired from 2005-2008, TRL, which ran from 1998-2008, and Unplugged, which first premiered in 1989.

"Keeping Up With The Kardashians" has not drawn over 2 million live+same-day viewers since May 1, 2016.
