Dana White: Conor McGregor might never fight again

It's highly unlikely that McGregor steps inside an Octagon again before the end of the year, but when he does fight for UFC again, many believe it will be against interim UFC Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson. White said he hasn't spoken with McGregor, but was betting the reports are erroneous.

In preparation of his upcoming fight, Aldo spoke to reporters during a media day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil about a number of different topics including the current state of the 155-pound division and their champion McGregor. "I think everyone is waiting for that".

Eleven months later, and after back-to-back wars with Ultimate Fighter season five victor Nate Diaz, 'The Notorious' claimed his second title in mixed martial arts' premier promotion in the main event of UFC 205, TKO'ing then-lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez to become the first fighter in the promotion's history to hold two titles at the same time.

"Listen, Conor might never fight again", White said, via Iole. "Conor can walk down the street and it's big news now". The guy's got a f--ing $100 million. I've got guys who made less than that who are lawyers and went to school their whole lives and quit working.

Attar had previously denied McGregor was going to fight on the December 30 show, saying his attention had always been focused on returning to the cage in the first quarter of 2018.

Since McGregor's box-office blockbuster boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in August, White has been alternately confident and cautiously optimistic about the prospect of seeing the Irish star back in the octagon.

"The UFC needs to do what has to be done: you take the belt away or make him defend it". And fighting is the worst. Another man in his 50s tried to intervene, but got punched twice in the face by the sports star. "Money changes everything with a lot of people".
