Cousins: 'Missed Opportunities' Doomed Redskins Against Vikings

As a result, the questions regarding the starting quarterback will continue to be asked. Maybe if he can excel against a nasty defense like Minnesota's they'll reconsider. In a game last month at Chicago, Kyle Rudolph caught a touchdown pass from Keenum and players joined him for a game of "Duck, Duck, Gray Duck". Diggs only added one catch for 16 yards in the second half, but still posted a good line and showed that he was healthy moving forward.

It was hard for Zimmer to be too upset considering the Vikings have won five consecutive games.

Already making eight regular-season appearances as a member of the Redskins thus far into the 2017-18 campaign, Grant has now hauled in 24 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns. The Vikings' opponent capitalized with a field goal, but they were still in control at 35-20. Because we kind of had the game pretty much in hand at that point.

Kai Forbth's 53-yard field yard field goal was a huge kick, giving the Vikings a two-score lead late in the game.

The Vikings are becoming well known for their celebrations.

"While we were 2-for-4 in the red zone, we very possibly could have been 4-for-4", Cousins said. "They were great and doing the Skol chant, and all that".

The FOX broadcast noted that head coach Mike Zimmer told them it's only a matter of time before Bridgewater is back. Diggs said he wanted to pay homage to service members, but the Vikings were penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct.

To round out the NFC North, the 5-4 Lions are No. 13, the 5-4 Packers are No. 19 and the 3-6 Bears are No. 27.

Look at this from the perspective of the Vikings' decision-makers: They owe it to this team to play their best quarterback, and they owe it to the franchise to be able to make an informed decision on the position for next year and beyond. And of course they did in the final minutes of the game when Tom Johnson busted through the line to tackle the running back for a loss on fourth down-a huge play that helped seal the win. Alexander snared it at the Washington 33 and returned it 10 yards, leading to Keenum's 1-yard touchdown pass to Morgan with 22 seconds left in the half for a 28-17 lead.
