Byron Maxwell signs one-year deal with Seahawks

Report Byron Maxwell Seattle Seahawks agree to one-year deal

Prosise on injured reserve.

Former South Carolina standout Mike Davis has promoted from practice squad to the 53-man roster for the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced Tuesday.

Sherman ruptured his Achilles during Thursday evening's win over the rival Arizona Cardinals.

The 29-year-old has gone through a workout with Seattle on Monday morning prior to re-signing with the team. In his absence, the Seahawks went with Jeremy Lane for the rest of the game. The veteran corner started opposite Sherman and played a huge role during the Seahawks' back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Maxwell (41) is called for pass interference on New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall (15) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on November 6, 2016. He spent two seasons with the 49ers, playing in 14 games and rushing for 109 yards on 54 carries.

Prosise, 23, has struggled to establish himself as a nice complementary piece in Seattle's crowded backfield the way he did last campaign.

Davis is former fourth-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers out of SC. As a rookie, Prosise posted 172 yards on 30 carries and one touchdown along with 208 yards on 17 receptions.
