Police say the items tested positive for narcotics.

Rose McGowan turned herself into cops in Virginia where she was arrested for an outstanding warrant for possession of cocaine. The Class 5 felony charge "stems from a police investigation of personal belongings that tested positive for narcotics and were left behind on a flight (United 653) arriving at Washington Dulles International Airport on January 20", according to a spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

The Loudoun County Sheriffs Office told The Blast: 'Ms McGowan appeared in Loudoun County, Virginia, on November 14, 2017, to accept service of the Airports Authority Police arrest warrant, and she was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond'.

McGowan reacted on Twitter to news of the warrant in October.

She tweeted last month that she was raped by a man with the initials "HW".

McGowan has made headlines lately for helping lead the charge against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who she alleged sexually assaulted her, along with many other women.

Weinstein paid her a 100,000 dollar (£76,000) settlement in 1997 to "avoid litigation and buy peace" over an incident in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival, according to the newspaper.

He faces police investigations in Los Angeles, New York and London and has been sacked from The Weinstein Company, the studio he co-founded with his brother.
