Watch This 11-Year-Old Girl's Reaction To Long-Awaited Adoption News

VIDEO: Adoption surprise for young Utah girl melting hearts

Tannah Butterfield leaped into the arms of her school's office manager, Jackie Alexander, after hearing the news.

"[Jen Fisher] had called to tell me that everything had went well in court that day, that Jeff and her were going to adopt her and the rights were [removed] from the biological parents", Alexander said.

Alexander also writes that she knows the family and has watched them fight to adopt three foster children that attend the school where she works. Eleven-year-old Tannah Butterfield spent the last two years hoping a judge would make her foster parents her forever parents.

In a now-viral Instagram post, Alexander shared footage of the moment caught by the school's security cameras. "She just held me tighter and tighter and I took advantage of that". She said she was happy to give Tannah the news after there had been several setbacks in the family's case.

Tannah had her own message. In 12 years at this activity, this is by a wide margin my best minute ever!

Surveillance video in the office captured the moment. To tell a little girl that she gets her family forever takes the cake. "I did not expect that from Tannah".

"She's just one that I've made a little bond with and it's lasted", Alexander said.

"I had to let people know there's a lot going on in the world, a lot of sadness but you know what? There's joy that happens every day".
